Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and working model Kendall Jenner continues to further her career in high fashion. She is one of the stars of Givenchy‘s Fall/Winter 2014 campaign, which is her first high fashion ad (above, far left). As she still gains momentum from her highly publicized runway appearances at Fashion Week in New York, London, and Paris last season, this is yet another milestone that surely separates her from a typical reality star.
Kendall shared the above photo via Instagram, in which she gives a bold, dark lip in a super chic python dress that screams Riccardo Tisci. I almost did not recognize her in the ad, but she looks fabulous. She is joined by six other models in the print ads, shot by the legendary duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, which only gives her more credibility because she holds her own amongst Givenchy regulars.
I like that Kendall (above, far left) is not the center of attention of the campaign, which could have been an easy decision because of her infamous family. Her supporting role is quite fitting because her appearance in the campaign already draws instant attention from the media, including myself. Not to mention, Kendall fits right into the high fashion look of the campaign alongside other supermodels. Even though her journey as a model is obviously unlike any others because of her previous fame, she still has to prove herself as she climbs the fashion ladder. If it were that easy, then any reality star could become a supermodel!
You have to admit, Kendall is working hard for her recognition. At just 18 years old, she is booking credible fashion gigs, slaying multiple red carpets, and running a successful clothing line for PacSun with her younger, and some say even more stylish sister, Kylie.
Not only did Kendall appear in Givenchy’s print ads, but she also starred with Julia Nobis, Mariacarla Boscono, Jamie Bochert, and other Givenchy favorites in a fun campaign dance video to music by The Martinez Brothers. The eclectic, tribal music matches the inspired garments that Tisci blessed us with for fall. Who knew Kendall could give hair so well?! Check it out!
