Ready for another sting from the Queen Bey? Beyoncé is the cover star of CR Fashion Book, the bi-annual publication created by former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, Carine Roitfeld. The September issue is only the fifth edition of the magazine, simply entitled “Queen B”, but Roitfeld has already been able to tap some of the biggest stars in the world since its recent formation in 2012.

Shot by Pierre Debusschere with guest creative direction by Riccardo Tisci, this is the first collaborative campaign between Beyoncé and Roitfeld. The pop queen was reportedly one of the editor’s inspirations to come up with CR Fashion Book after the two were introduced at the Met Gala. These are my favorite shots, featuring the “Partition” singer in a structured Céline coat, revealing nothing underneath but a sexy, tasteful torso and long, fabulous legs. Not to mention, her blown out, floor-length mane is everything!

Beyoncé hasn’t done a high fashion shoot in a while, but this spread delivered artistic couture in honor of the greatest entertainer alive. Draped in Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane, Prada, Lorraine Schwartz, and even a Chanel surfboard, this spread has a unique, diverse range of very impressive looks. Inside the issue, Beyoncé penned an expressive poem on her career and inspirations, which was co-written by Pulitzer Prize winning poet Forest Gander.
The fifth issue of CR Fashion Book appropriately hits newsstands on September 4, the day of Queen Bey’s 33rd birthday. A fashion cover will surely be one of her many birthday gifts after yet another iconic year in music. For more pictures from her spread, visit crfashionbook.com.
