This is a very diverse exhibit, which conveys de la Renta’s various sources of inspiration. His contribution to political fashion over the past 50 years is recognized through iconic looks he created for First Ladies Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton, and Nancy Reagan. The custom wedding dress he created for Jenna Bush is also on display. Other focuses of the designer’s work in the exhibit include the influence of Spanish culture, his dedication to extraordinary couture, and some of his most impressive red carpet creations for A-list stars.

You can visit this incredible exhibit at the Southern Methodist University campus in Dallas, Texas through October 5. Sponsored by Mercedes T. Bass, this is an amazing tribute to one of the most creative, revered designers of all time. “Five Decades of Style” is an amazing concept and, better yet, an educational fashion moment!
