This Dance Life post combines two of my favorite artists in one piece of work. Blake McGrath is an insanely talented dancer and choreographer of whom I have been a fan since I started dancing at age seventeen. He is known for appearing on the first season of So You Think You Can Dance in 2005 and countless performances with dance icons like Britney, Janet, and Madonna.
I’ve been jamming to Jennifer Lopez‘s new album, A.K.A., since its release a few weeks ago, but one song has stuck out to me: TENS, an uptempo vogue-style ode to the gay dance scene, featuring Jack Mizrahi, a legend in the community of balls, which are flamboyant, fabulous presentations of modern voguing dance styles. Blake has clearly appreciated the song just as much as me! He delivers his signature sharp style in this choreography, featuring lots of counts along with his flawless technique and relentless movement. Unsurprisingly, he is the only dancer in the video worth watching, but he delivers this routine as if his life depends on it! Enjoy his dedication to the markers in the music and the physical capabilities of his body. Werk, Blake!!
FAST FORWARD TO :44 FOR THE BEGINNING OF THE ROUTINE!
